Extremely excited for this - part of the Rocket Knife plan is to have artists from other genres remix or do their own take on our songs. Friday, May 1st will be the release of the first two of these. The is a drum and bass spin on “Dying Day” from producer B Wiley. The Cardboard People Dub is a fantastic interpretation of the same song from the duo of Jim Greer and Yunoka Berry.

“Dying Day” is a heart-wrenching account of a once-loving relationship now in its death throes after enduring life’s struggles, disappointments, and financial setbacks. Heavily inspired by the work of Sade, Massive Attack, and Portishead, Ilana Martell’s soulful vocals soar over the band’s head-nodding trip hop beats and bass lines, ghostly guitars, and sweeping orchestrations. This song is the first release from Rocket Knife, the San Francisco Bay Area indie music scene’s eq
